Tim StewardOriginally hailing from Wales, Tim began rock climbing around the UK whilst studying at university, a progression which soon led to alpine climbing in the European Alps.

A holiday to New Zealand turned into a permanent move and Tim abandoned his engineering qualifications in the pursuit of a life in the mountains. Tim now calls Wanaka his home and loves climbing in the backdrop of the Southern Alps, especially in the Darrans for rock or winter climbing and his favourite routes on Mount Aspiring and the Remarkables. Tim is an active committee member for the NZMGA and a member of the Wanaka Alpine Cliff Rescue team.

Tim’s favourite aspects of guiding are visiting new areas and peeling back the unknown on new climbs, showing people around the mountains and helping them achieve their goals.
