
Pablo Borjas is an internationally certified IFMGA/UIAGM mountain guide with over 20 years of experience leading expeditions across some of the world's most remote and challenging terrains. His extensive guiding career spans the Andes, the North American Rockies, the Himalayas, and New Zealand's Southern Alps.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Pablo developed a passion for climbing early in life. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the Central University of Venezuela (2001) and a Diploma in Adventure Guiding from Thompson Rivers University in Canada (2004). His academic background enriches his deep understanding of mountain environments and cultures.
Pablo has summited numerous iconic South American peaks, including Aconcagua, Ojos del Salado, Sajama, Illimani, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, and Pico Bolívar. Notably, he was part of the historic 1993 Venezuelan expedition to Ama Dablam (6,828m/22,401ft) in Nepal. He is also a founding member of the Venezuelan Association of Mountain Instructors and Guides, contributing significantly to the development of the mountain guiding profession in his home country.
Currently residing with his family in Twizel, New Zealand, Pablo continues to share his expertise and passion for the mountains. Fluent in both Spanish and English, he is known for his warmth, meticulous preparation, and the confidence he instills in those he guides. His approach emphasizes patience and a deep connection to the mountain environment, aiming to help clients discover not just new landscapes but also a profound appreciation for the simplicity and tranquility of mountain life.
