French guide Severin Marchand has played a key role in the Adventure Consultants team in both Europe and New Zealand. He has achieved notable climbs in both regions, including Mont Blanc, Mount Cook, Mount Tasman and Mount Aspiring, as well as undertaking international expeditions in India and Nepal.

    Severin Marchand Mountain Guide cropped squareBorn in Jura, France, Severin started climbing at the age of 14. Motivated by his passion for the outdoors and sharing experiences with others, he began guiding in 2001. He is now based in the Tarentaise Valley near Val d'Isère, France.

    Severin is a fully qualified IFMGA Mountain and Ski Guide and some of his most notable climbs include Grand Pilier d’Angle, Cecchinel-Nominè/Boivin-Vallençant on Mont Blanc, The Shield on El Capitan in Yosemite Valley, USA and guiding the Grande Jorasses Traverse on the Mont Blanc range. High altitude expeditions include climbing Shivling (6,500m) in India and Tengkampoche (6,200m) in Nepal.

    In 2002, Severin spent time climbing and guiding in New Zealand, successfully reaching the summits of Mounts Cook, Tasman and Aspiring. Severin is currently based at Chalet Akène in Sainte Foy, Tarentaise where he runs his guest house.
