Bio
Mike’s relationship with the mountains began in the mid 90’s, when he moved to the Rocky Mountains of Western Canada and quickly immersed himself in winter climbing. Skiing followed a few seasons later and in 2011, Mike became an IFMGA guide. Mike climbs grades up to 5.12c, WI7, M11 and has high altitude experience to 20,000 feet. In addition to his guiding, he has over 10 years of search and rescue experience, with Canadian Avalanche Association Level 2 and Advanced Adventure Medic (80hr wilderness-based first aid) certifications.
Mike takes great pleasure in enjoying all of the challenges and beauty the mountains can offer, but for him, it culminates with the opportunity to show this world to others, whether its rock climbing, ski touring or mountaineering. He enjoys helping people challenge themselves and work towards reaching their goals. He lives in Canmore with his wife, Kristen.
