Dave Lewis is an IFMGA Mountain and Ski Guide who has spent 16 years guiding in New Zealand, much of it in the Southern Alps.
Dave grew up in the English Midlands and started climbing as a teenager, learning the craft on the crags and hills of the Lake District, North Wales and Scotland. He holds numerous outdoor qualifications including a BA (Hons) in Outdoor Leadership from the University of Cumbria (UK). After moving to New Zealand to pursue a career in guiding, he qualified as an IFMGA Mountain and Ski Guide through the NZMGA.
The Southern Alps are home soil for Dave now. He lived and worked at Aoraki Mount Cook for many years while part of the Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Rescue Team.
Further afield, Dave has climbed, skied and guided across North, Central and South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
Away from the mountains, you'll find him enjoying music, photography, good food and catching up with family and friends.
