The Kilimanjaro trek is challenging and you MUST train for several months prior to departure to make your trip as enjoyable as possible. Training should include regular walking on hills, in combination with swimming, light running or biking and gym work to develop strength. We recommend training plans from Uphill Athlete.
Adventure Consultants specialises in ‘Luxury Services’ treks to Kilimanjaro for individuals or groups wanting the highest degree of comfort available on the mountain.
Services include 4 or 5 star hotel, heated mess tents, walk-in sleeping tents with beds, showers, additional portable toilets, bottled mineral water, exceptional food, luxury safaris, Western guides and more.
The summit of Kilimanjaro is the culmination of a seven-day hike that takes you from the red earth plains up through tropical rainforest and alpine moorland to this arid landscape.
There has been no escaping the vibrancy of the landscape, emphasised by sounds emanating from the local support crew that fade in and out on gentle thermals, occasionally accentuated by bursts of Maasai tribal song.
When you stand on the broad summit of the highest point in Africa, you sense the vast expanse of the continent that breathes to a different rhythm to the rest of our planet. The blood-red dawn begins to illuminate the surrounding plains of the Serengeti broken only by the occasional distant peak. Strange ice formations sit stranded on the coarse gravel around the summit plateau, like isolated icebergs left by the ebbing tide. Inexplicably, it makes you smile. You are really here.
Any visit to Africa must include a safari and our 5-day / 4-night Luxury Tented Safari takes in some of the world’s most unique game reserves such as the Lake Manyara and Serengeti National Parks and the Ngorongoro Crater.
- Travel, climb and safari, all in only two weeks!
- Africa’s highest peak, one of the Seven Summits AND one of the Volcanic Seven Summits
- Choose from a vast list of luxury services options both on and off mountain
- Stay in 5-star accommodations before and after the climb
