She now also works for the Department of Conservation looking after their avalanche safety program associated with the Great Walks in Fiordland.

Brenda's years as a trekking guide have seen her touring with groups throughout New Zealand's South Island, exploring our scenic tourist hotspots and beyond into the backcountry guiding treks into our spectacular New Zealand mountains. Her guiding has also seen her travel numerous times to Nepal where she has climbed Island Peak and trekked to Everest Base Camp four times, including once all the way from Jiri. She has also guided for AC on Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak.
