Hannah Burrows-Smith

IFMGA Mountain & Ski Guide

Born and raised in the Scottish Highlands, a life in the mountains was a natural choice for Hannah, who loves the variety and movement of climbing. When she is not on the slopes of Aviemore in her native Scotland you can find Hannah guiding courses and ascents for Adventure Consultants in the high reaches of the European Alps.

  • Bio

Hannah Burrows Smith Web ProfileBorn in Inverness, Scotland, Hannah now shares her time between Aviemore, Scotland and the Chamonix Valley in France. Hannah was introduced to climbing at a young age by her dad, a keen climber, and by the time she reached university was spending time rock, snow and ice climbing in the hills of Scotland and across the Alps. On leaving university Hannah worked as a climbing instructor in the mountains and crags of Scotland and North Wales before becoming a fully qualified IFMGA guide in 2009.

There are two things Hannah loves about climbing - the movement of climbing, how it feels in different environments, and the variety of all the different places and conditions you can climb in. When it comes to guiding she enjoys what all the different people she meets bring to the mountains, their enthusiasm to try something new, and for her to bring about the best experience of adventure those mountains can bring to them.
