Bio
Not just a talented climber, Dawa Wongchu spends his downtime from the mountains studying for a business degree in marketing from his base in Kathmandu. It’s not easy juggling a career as a Climbing Sherpa with being a student—in 2016, he missed a big exam as he was unable to fly out of Lukla at end of his Everest expedition! When he’s not working or studying, Dawa Wongchu can be found paragliding from the peaks of Pokhara and Sarangkot with his university friends, having obtained his solo pilot's licence.
Being the son of a lama, Dawa Wongchu has learnt many of the puja ceremony prayers and in 2019 he performed AC’s Everest puja alongside his father, a very special moment for AC.
Dawa Wongchu has already travelled in India and Tibet but in the future his dream travel destination is the Canadian Rockies, for travel and, of course, climbing.
